In a statement to the Miami Herald, a Trump campaign spokesperson said that Hinchcliffe’s joke about Puerto Rico does not “reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign.”
Bullshit.
They didn’t book him by accident. They booked him for one and only one reason - so that he’d say things that they expected would appeal to Trump’s supporters.
And that’s exactly what he did.
Didn’t he throw paper towels at the Puerto Ricans asking for help after their island was devastated? I’m pretty sure his thoughts are in line with this comedian.
Guaranteed they are.
Even if he wasn’t a racist fuckwad on his own, he’s of a generation of white New Yorkers for whom being racist against Puerto Ricans was sort of a universal minimum.
U.S. Reps. Carlos Gimenez and Maria Elvira Salazar of Miami — who encouraged voters at an event in West Miami on Saturday to vote for Trump — condemned the remarks and said that they do not reflect GOP values.
Did they take that back and are now encouraging voters not to vote for Trump? No?
That’s not furor, then. That’s CYA. “Offensive remarks about Puerto Rico at Trump rally ignite CYA in Florida GOP.”
It invokes führer in every other GOP.
Does Tony actually align himself with the MAGA agenda, or did he infiltrate and troll the shit out of them?
He defended “the joke” so I’m pretty sure he’s aligned with Maga.
Well, the election isn’t over yet. If he wanted the outrage to stick, why wouldn’t he?
Yeah, cuz it works so well to be considered a racist comedian. Just ask the Kramer guy.
Well, the two situations aren’t comparable at all.
Michael Richards lost his shit on a heckler, his racist outburst being unplanned.
Tony Hinchcliffe said a lot of very planned, deliberate shit that he knows is offensive and is intended to be offensive by design. That’s his shtick, has been for a while.
This is trolling 101. If I was doing that very thing here, I can guarantee y’all would be accusing me of trolling. It’s weird that people don’t register it when it happens out in the wild.
I’m getting annoyed. The comedian double downed on the “joke” and there was no Puerto Ricans on stage to roast. It’s called being a racist bully. This is my last comment.
He’s done this same act all over
Holy crap, that’s a pretty solid theory you’ve got there.
I can imagine a member of the modern GOP telling jokes about Puerto Ricans and black people on the national stage because of thinking it would go well, but I can definitely also imagine that other thing, too. If that’s what it is, then the guy is this century’s unsung hero.
I’m not an informed fan (or critic) of his, but I do know he’s commonly known to be a roast comedian, who pushes people’s buttons. It seems to me he’s the kind who wouldn’t be afraid to put his name on the line to pull off the roast of the century.
