It was ahead of its time. You can do quests and talk to people. It has multiple endings. There’s voice acting. It’s overall a very immersive game for its time. It is also the last commercial standalone game on the Doom engine.
And for the modern computers, you can get the veteran edition on gog and steam.

I had never heard of this when it first came out, but have had a blast playing it on the past few years after discovering it. Great game.
