I put 2 cups rice with soy sauce, some sugar, and rice vinegar in my rice cooker then just laid some carrots, napa and mashed tofu mixed with salt, nooch and turmeric on top of the rice and pressed the button.
I ate this with steamed vegetables and 5 spice sauce and dumplings of which I forgot to take pictures of 🤷♀️
Are you telling me a tofu fried this rice? /s

Seriously though, enjoy!
Never thought about making rice this way but have to give this a try this weekend. Great idea to simplify the process for days where you don’t have a lot of time
Good luck! Yeah, I’m not trying to pretend this is official or anything, it is tasty food for after I work a 10 hour day lol
Looks yummy! In Japan this method is called takikomi-gohan (cook-together rice) and I think tofu and turmeric seems good combination. I recommend trying one with mushrooms (traditionally shimeji or shiitake but anything really) is also really good.
takikomi-gohan
Wow thanks! I didn’t know any names for this and now I have lots of things to look up about it. I actually meant to put mushrooms in this and had some chopped up that didn’t make it and I ended up putting into my other dish lol
What is napa? When searching all I get is a city in California
napa cabbage, I think its also called chinese cabbage https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Napa_cabbage
Thanks!
Napa cabbage most likely
This is a major innovation in vegan home cookery 🤯
