Repubs and abortion are like the dog that caught its own tail. They never actually wanted to ban it, even if they didn’t realize it. They just wanted to keep chasing it and whipping their voters up over a pointless non-issue. How many similar cases of “oh shit we fucked up” have we seen after Republicans got their abortion bans?

Yes, logically it goes too far as he sees it. it’ll likely push Arizona further from voting for him, but killing roe v Wade was good because if he says otherwise his rabid base will eat him.

I’m convinced his only goal in life now is reelection, any he would do pretty much anything except things resulting in certain death to attain it.

It’s so absurd for him to try to thread this needle. His party wants to control everyone; that’s why they want activist judges in there to overturn settled law in the first place. That’s why they support donnie in the first place. For him to pretend he wants some kind of compromise on this is beyond ridiculous - Roe WAS the compromise, and most of America was fine with it. The cons needs to confront that truth.

Honestly, though, they don’t WANT compromise, even if they constitute a minority. If they can get enough of their drones on the court, they’ll end birth control and gay rights as well. Same for interracial marriage.
