They’ll likely post an updated version during maintenance but for now this is what’s been released about the upcoming changes.
Sadly didn’t see anything about increasing the number of glamour plates. We now have more jobs than glamour plates, so if you have one glam per job, something has to share, and you have no room for casual glams. And that’s before you factor in DoH/DoL jobs.
Glamour plates would need to accompany server changes, and there’s already too much of that happening with this maintenance to be risky/overwhelming. I’m anticipating them in 7.1
Fair point. Personally I’d love to see you be able to save a glamour against a gear set as well so you can use your glamour plates for everything else. But with gear sets being stored client side rather than server side that probably won’t happen.
I’m surprised to still see Sacks of Nuts for hunts. At least that’s one less new currency to juggle.
Between the graphical updates and the QOL changes, I’m incredibly excited - and that’s on top of a whole new expansion’s worth of content to play. Very excited to dive in this week (and sad that I’ll be on my laptop and not my gaming PC the next two weekends, RIP)
Also, can’t remember if they’d explicitly said this, but sounds like everyone is getting a fantasia just in case they need it with the character model changes. I don’t think I’ll need mine, but still really thoughtful on their part!
They’ve added a new side quest that will give you the Fantasia, it’s listed in the patch notes! So once you complete that you’ll get it.
Players may now adjust text auto-advance settings to apply only to voiced dialogue.
Low-key the best change
Such a simple change but easily one of the better QOL updates.
I am so excited about all the visual changes, as the vistas are beautiful but low detail render distance of shadows makes look so many beautiful areas very dull.
Otherwise I hope for more varied and engaging combat mechanics in casual content without upping the difficulty necessarily. Otherwise a standard expansion it seems, but I wonder if there will be more unique solo experiences like Endwalker provided with the stealth missions.
Will be interesting if we get something akin to the body snatcher mission from Endwalker. I remember a lot of people struggled with it at the time but I quite enjoyed the change in pace (and I don’t mind a stealth game either so sneaking around the ruins avoiding enemies was fun to me).
