Still use it for marketplace. If that decoupled from Facebook I wouldn’t need it.

Look up your local laws surrounding garage or yard sales. Facebook Marketplace has been full of people who cannot handle basic communication anecdotally, so I stopped using it well before I deactivated my facebook. Putting a couple signs with an address around town and getting rid of stuff and things in bulk it a yard sale has worked great for me since.

You’re clearly surrounded here in your edgelord echo chamber if you’re literally shocked that there are still millions upon millions of people using facebook. So yeah, Captain Edgelord, you just come off looking willfully ignorant. But you and the rest of these clowns can downvote facts if it makes you feel better.

Afaik free speech protection in the US only protects against the government. Private companies, like Facebook, can still decide to not host you for whatever reason they want.
I’d say this is unlikely to change soon, looking at how little the US regulates its tech companies.

There are a lot of facists who pretend that any time a company chooses not to amplify their content, they are having their rights curtailed. They know that it’s not true, but if they complain loudly enough, they can convince companies to comply. They are also trying to use the Streisand effect to amplify their messages.

Any time they try to paint it as a free speech issue is a psy-op.

There are real free speech issues in the US, but they don’t look like this.

The linked article in this post is from a pretty sketchy biased site, and you’re right that they are using inflammatory language rather than accurate language. I’m no expert, but it sounds FB may have had a point blocking this account. I hate Facebook, but not because of this.
