  • So turns out, “bring a side dish” meant mother wanted me to bring a vegetable and she didn’t like the cornbread. I mean, she liked the taste of it. But it wasn’t what she wanted.

Maybe…tell me vegetable sidedish then! Guh.

I also was unable to keep the tiredness and pain from my face so much she commented on it which is. Bad. She’ll be upset I wasn’t able to pull it together for this event.

Also, wear a nice shirt and pants, and your husband was wearing a hawaiian tshirt? Buh. I was panicking because I don’t have something nice anymore that fits, so I threw together three things in layers to make something at least niceish. Guh. Buh.

I did sleep like 10 hours when I got home though. I’ve been sleeping like 3-4, waking up, doing a bit, sleeping again, over and over cause my body will not sleep through and night sweats. Guess doing social stuff is exhausting enough to sleep lots!

The cat water bowl is clean. I’ll have leftover honey cake for breakfast in a bit.

  • What’s it like being an identical twin?

I don’t fucking know, what’s it like not being one??

I’d guess it’s like having a sibling, only different! I only have the twin though, no other siblings.

Also also, yes your grandmother’s way of canning sucks ass wax is not valid, turning them upside down is not valid, using non canning jars to can is not valid, using the oven and not a water or pressure canner is not valid. Two piece rings and glass jars! Or whatever, I’m not your mom and not eating your food.

  • Freshman year of high school, baybeee. One of two times the TVs ever went on in school. The second was for (very local disaster). Dad was suppose to be on the plane that went into the field (unlike his usual lies he had a ticket) but he decided spending time with his mistress was more important.

It’s also Rosh Hashanah dinner tonight. I need to bring “a side” and my brain only figured out corn bread. Hope mom likes it.

I’ll dehydrate more celery when I get home. I’d usually do it before leaving but that is a voided warranty so I’d rather be at home if it like. Explodes.

  • Indeedy, cats go where they want. When I’m around they stay off the counter but at night she’s wherever.

Which is why my cutting surface is not the countertop, it’s a cutting board that’s kept inside a cabinet she can’t physically get to. Also if I do have to use straight counter, I wash it down! I mean, I still wipe it down even when using a cutting board, in case. It’s just extra washed.

I love cats for their soft fur and little meows.

  • Wind is extremely scary.

We went to get a new dehydrator so we went to check at home depot and they said they didn’t have them in store, then asked “Is it an emergency” and I froze because how do I say “There is no such thing as a food dehydrator emergency” without being an ass so I just said “nooooo” drawn out.

We forgot to buy the metal tape I need to keep repairing the dryer with. Oops. It’ll still run, it’ll just take more trips through the dryer to get well, dry.

  • Cat is being a dingus. I’m wearing a shirt that shows a bit of my stomach when I’m goblin shaped on the couch. My normal shirt doesn’t. Kitten got it into her head, saw it, and smacked that skin with claws!!! Oooo jerk.

The dehydrator, being weird is sometimes still making noise but my magical technique called “smack it till it works again” is working. I’m making ‘sun-dried’ tomatoes now from the garden tomatoes.

We’re going to look for a bunch of stuff outside the house. Not looking forward to that.
