  • I love how there’s basically nothing but love for Tool in these comments. I’m a big fan of whatever Maynard James Keenan’s touching. I adore Puscifer and listen constantly (Grand Canyon is my current obsessive-replay song… once again), APC literally always fucks hard so it’s always an option, and Tool scratches an itch I can’t get anywhere else. Saw Tool live finally, too, just like last year.

  • “I assume” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

as someone who runs GrapheneOS and looked into the possibility of doing contactless payments: no. it simply does not work. all the contactless payment apps can somehow detect you’re not running the stock OS for the phone and choose to lock themselves down.

cashapp and venmo will also freeze your accounts almost immediately upon installation and login and, in my case with cashapp, insinuate you may be reported to law enforcement for fraud when you appeal with info about your phone lmao

  • guys who have actually big dicks tend to understate them on grindr and stuff. it’s easier to undersell it and let them discover in person than it is to tell the truth and have to deal with the “oh really? I doubt it.” bullshit every single time where suddenly everyone is a CSI photoshop-detecting photography genius. better to just fly under the radar as average and exceed expectations once they can’t argue it’s “just the angle”.

saaame. I am very unintentionally Maga coded. I went to a pride event recently and to get in I was walking past it to get to the end of the line. walked past a single guy (white, little pudgy, your average 20 something Maga) holding Trump signs and I walk past and he goes “hey brother! wanna–” and goes to hand me a sign and I couldn’t help the look of disgust I gave him with a little “ugh…” and he seemed absolutely gutted. he was gone when I got back to the same corner while in line. I like to think he saw me waiting in line and couldn’t face the threat of conflict over his mistake.

what exactly do these corporations think aggrieved widows and widowers will do when they go to hold companies to justice and are told “no justice for you peasant, get out”?

do they think everyone who has just lost their life will go “ok… I’ll just live with that then, thank you Disney”? lmao

i can’t understand for the life of me why all these organizations want to remove the systems we built as a society to act as sensible alternatives to violence. do they want to be violenced?

  • it’s so fucked how often they’re right to be suspicious about motives but only apply that suspicion to other industries or groups who aren’t trying to trick them, and never their own, which are. I guess the first step a cult must take is immunize people against being affected by any other outside forces, malicious or not. they’ll always implicitly trust the cult leaders who “let them in” on how their control works.

  • I agree folks are overestimating how many will switch. but also maybe you’re underestimating too - a lot of browser installations are managed by the “family tech guy”. the father, mother, brother, sister, aunt or uncle who sets up everyone’s new laptops on Christmas and has the suggestions when you look for a new phone. we all know the type. a lot of us are the type.

setting up granny’s laptop? I’ll install whatever browser lets me automatically block the most “1000th visitor!” banner ads and change the desktop icon to the old AOL icon because that’s all she knows the internet as. she doesn’t know of care about the browser options so it’s up to me. Chrome used to be fast and simple so it was the right choice. Firefox has caught up a fair bit on UX simplicity and speed and now offers better blocking and general security, so it just stole the crown for these installations imo. I trust it more to not let her mess the computer up, so even if I’m not using it as my main personal browser, it gets use here.

deprivatize the aerospace industry. imagine the boon to the American economy if these failing, debt-ridden, dysfunctional aerospace manufacturers and airlines were replaced by a massive jobs program with the goal of optimizing air travel safety, affordability, and access. we’re a big country. we could massively benefit from an aeronautical empire that gives any person safe, enjoyable 30 dollar flights, coast to coast.

(edit, oops, forgot a prefix. wow)
