ErgoMechKeyboards@lemmy.world•My personal keyboard I designed from scratch (I learnt a lot doing it but it is less ergonomic than a normal keyboard unfortunately).
5·16 days agoThat looks great! I’m curious about how that thumb cluster works for you?

YMMV, but in my experience silent switch and o-rings are the biggest contributesrs to reducing noise. Films also help to a smaller degree. Stabilizers are also a big source of noise, as I understand, but I don’t have anything to advise there since none of my boards have had stabilizers.
Of course, changing your typing habits will have a larger impact than hardware changes though.
Square bit as the go-to general purpose bit is the correct opinion. Every time I have to pull my square bit off to put a Philips on I am just disappointed.
Nice. Im debating doing something similar to your setup, good to know the wrist rest doesn’t cause issue.
The cables are only one sided, but you can get adapters for the other end. Now that I’ve tried magnetic cables I love them - but I also only have the one sval that currently has to move between multiple computers frequently, its very convenient for that.
Thankfully the magnetic cables minimize potential damage from the chair yanking things. How’s the transition from arm rest to the wrist rest feel? It looks slightly awkward.
There’s no shame in it, Raziel - revenge is motivation enough. At least it’s honest. Hate me, but do it honestly.

Zen. I still keep brave around for those times a website needs something chromium based to run properly.
