Oh noes! The dementia took over and he drew a pre-teen female figure with the magic sharpie and wiped out Mar-A-Lago instead…

1·10 hours agoWhat zoo? I wish the ones near me had more than butterfies. (…don’t get me wrong, I adore the butterflies but wouldn’t mind seeing the more unusual insects as well…)
That is a yummy snack! I love flying foxes!
One of my faovrite youtube channels is megabattie.

politics @lemmy.world•Trump fires federal arts board in charge of reviewing White House ballroom and ‘Arc de Trump’
50·10 hours agoRight now, everyone is terrified of the actual President, Stephen Miller.
Mr. Trump is just a loudmouthed figurehead with dementia that runs interference.
What 8 wars?
They’re just laying low and waiting until Trump’s bribe money runs out.
Never forget that Trump will throw down cash in order to make himself look good. What does anyone wanna bet that the money grifted from the cybercurrencies his organization is supporting isn’t in this mix?
There’s nothing real there.

9·10 hours ago…Were they sold into the idea that when the company is making lots more money it can do lots more good with it?
This. I remember the PR that came out at the time.

World News@lemmy.world•Ben & Jerry's co-founder says Unilever blocked Palestine-themed ice creamEnglish
41·10 hours agoMore to the point, in America, the USDA regulations allow for hard pack ice cream to have up to 40% of its volume expanded with air.
WAAaaaay back in the early 2000’s after Unilever bought them, I bought a pint of Ben & Jerry’s Vanilla ice cream and got home and it sat on the counter and melted - much to my dismay - (It ended up under a towel and did not get put away.)
When I opened it, the level of ice cream in the container had dropped down by almost a quarter. What the hell? So I got another pint and at that time noticed that it was easier to scoop - a sign that there’s air being incorporated.
Yeah… nope. Done.
Haven’t bought Ben & Jerry’s in over 20 years. (besides, there’s a real homemade ice cream shop around the corner from my home - it’s what I get now and I support the woman that runs it.)
Seriously?
Pro tip: load up the iWhatever with music, pop in the headphones, blaze away and go to town. Have a pot of coffee on and don’t stop for texts or calls.
You’d be surprised how much can get done when you tune out the interruptions.
True, to a degree.
Though when I do smoke, I usually end up power cleaning the house…
Oh Jesus… not that shit.
I see you’ve met my husband. He is of course, a global leader in disgust gas.
I get deliveries sent to our bed. Usually accompanied by the sheets being pulled up over my head, the bastard…
LOL!

politics @lemmy.world•Trump, 79, Gets Confused Explaining Water to the Navy
10·1 day agoOh, he’s definitely been having mini strokes, for years. That or the adderal induced lack of sleep is creating psychosis in him.
Or, and this is most likely, he’s just following his own father into the maw of dementia - and that is his personal terror, if the history about his family that I’ve read, is correct.
I have come across a bunch of long-term reddit users - over a decade at least - say similar things. Not many newer users. Definitely some sort of weeding going on.
Eh, I found old.lemmy.zip and haven’t skipped a beat. I like that there is no cumulative post totals. Cuts out the karma farming entirely and keeps the focus on conversation, which is nice.

4·1 day agoI wonder if the DOD brass thought that “…Taking America back to when it was great…” meant we’d be using 1950’s technology as well.
Hmmm.
Haven’t heard Furii yet. Will go see what I can find. Love Figueroa as well!
Ya, I am out of there, finally got banned after 14 years for using a metaphor of a naugty child being punished to describe President Miller and it was less than a minute after I made the post that I was done.
The bots are being used to draw out arguments and get people reported. The rightward pivot once the IPO happened was breathtaking in it’s speed. Most of the subs I had subscribed to were tech, Apple, vintage computing, games, graphics/photoshop/digital painting and the like.
Within a month of the IPO I started seeing subs in my feed that were political and very rage-bait content filled. It was subtle to say the least. Should have been more aware of the change and avoided it. Honestly will say I stepped in it.
I tried to delete my account and through the new Reddit, it would not let me. Ended up getting a letter a day later claiming that my account had been investigated and the ban was permanent but I never challenged that fact.
I spent the night afterwards logged in to my old.reddit account and used it to delete all the content I posted that was not archived. It tried to kick me out with a blank “You’ve been banned” page several times but I kept bouncing between different browsers and refreshing all my old.reddit logins and finally managed to clean everything I could, out.
Something there is definitely up as the fact that the AI firm (chatGPT? not sure) they partnered with isn’t dipping into the datasets to train on as was intended, and was part of why the stock took a nosedive a month ago.
Definite fuckiness on Reddit right now.
Ambivalence gas. Ennui gas and my favorite (which I think already exists…) Procrastination gas.

That’s yet another site I’m glad I left years ago…
