sickpusy@sh.itjust.worksto World News@lemmy.world•Pro-Russian politician wins Slovakia's parliamentary electionEnglish47·2 years agoNot a supporter of the war but just noticed that western media is covering this with a sprinkling of their own propaganda. Just read telegraph’s piece on this. They seem to think that nato’s expansion is normal and just fine. And they also seem to call the presence of Nazi groups in Ukraine Russian propaganda.
There is clear propaganda war going on on both sides. Anti nato doesn’t neccesarily mean pro russia. A lot of western people don’t seem to be able to wrap their heads around this.
Crown is progressive?
Just got it! Really happy that the developer made it. For some reason boost on reddit still works though.
It was nice to switch over to my preferred view that I have been using for years now.

Sometimes I love listening to various podcasts about a topic or I’m just curious and use it like an user uses youtube search.

You can use nextdns on your home network. They have around 200,000k free requests. For 2 people it seems to work out to around 20 days of ad blocks. This particularly helps with the ads on the TV as well.
Otherwise you have the options to use Firefox with extensions or Brave without (I know it’s not popular around here). You can also use ReVanced for youtube blocks.
For most usage that free combination suffices for me.

Indian Defence Services are Switching to Linux: Indian Govt offices to use Linux distribution, replacing Microsoft WindowsEnglish29·2 years agoKerala has been using FOSS for a long time now. It’s a good step. In Kerala computer literacy centres actually teach Linux so hopefully this increase Linux usage in education sector as well.
sickpusy@sh.itjust.worksto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How many of you are using ChatGpt to help you with your work, and not telling your boss/co-workers?1·2 years agoUsed in small doses to generate text with some degree of precision is helpful. I do find it to be a good way to cut out boring email writing. But I would recommend it more as a text generation tool than a fact generation tool. With the right expectations and work flow it fits right in. And no I don’t consider it plagiarism if the client’s demand is boring.

You can always treat stuff as science fiction and enjoy regardless. What’s the harm!
