9·2 months ago!fediverse@piefed.social is great, and slowly growing. I lack good ressource for update and news. It’s hard to find good content about it. :)
!geekos@piefed.zip is fulling its goal, a free software community on piefed. I’m slowly filling the tag cloug with hashtag as linux, kde, gnome, libre phone…they will reach the fediverse. :3 And i added foss event where asso, dev, foundation meet each other and share their ideas. :)
Yep the app looks very clean. We have quite good linux DE and several flavor that fit most of users. :)

2·2 months agoVery cool ! I will let you decide. :)
if there is a resource that would benefit from the format of the static site (ex. interactive elements), we could add it in? I’m mainly considering duplicated work on your part.
Yes, don’t hesitate to duplicate, i explicity wrote it :)
Maybe you want to follow lemmy wiki organization ? A different plan ?
If you need help i suggest we talk about it in zulip because i can create lot topics as a memo for the wiki and it help me for the organization. :)
Some of that can be done by generalizing a few pages from the Lemmy section, and linking it twice. We also have a little bit written up about the big picture differences between Lemmy and Piefed: https://fedecan.ca/en/guide/fedecan/our-platforms#forum-style
I will take time to read it. I’m busy this week. :)
Cool, i’m glad you found the answer :)
Interesting, i saw a similar comment. Well i disagree because there is a balance with transparency and privacy.
Firstly, Piefed UI is slightly different from lemmy and it evolves very very quickly. If you tried it last month, it may be no longer true.
Maybe there is federation issue.
There is a modlog :
- https://piefed.social/modlog https://feddit.fr/modlog look at the footer of piefed instance.
- admins are disclosed here along staff members : https://piefed.zip/about https://piefed.social/about
Mind, the moderation on PieFed is different from lemmy. In fact, we have 2 admins role : admin and staff.
The vote system is diffferent from Reddit and lemmy :
- you can “protect” your privacy by making your vote only visible to local user
- on community, you can block downvote from account that aren’t members of community
- account that downvote too much will see their downvote ability removed. If there is a good balance between upvote-downvote, it shouldn’t be an issue. The correct way is to block a community.
Also we offer some filter to remove Trump/Elon from your timelime.
I think you should join PieFed chat so we can understand where the issue is, and listen to you. Maybe there is a federation issue between lemmy and piefed modlog ?
Maybe you prefer lemmy and that’s cool. :)

Transcripion of the video
Jeremy: You know, when we work on the internet, we use tools developed by large companies, which then collect the data we produce and use it for advertising, profiling, and targeting purposes.
We’ve decided to counter this by developing a tool called Clic.
Mathieu Ritimo: We’re working on a solution that allows you to download a file with a single click. It can be installed on a small computer, about this big, which consumes four watts, or on an old computer that you no longer use and have repurposed.
This will allow you to have services on your computer such as those found at Framasoft, free services, and to store your data locally. This is typically when you need confidentiality, when you need to store your data locally and prefer to refrain from connecting to the wider internet.
You have a small local internet. It also allows you to go to places where there is no internet, such as a ZAD (Zone à Défendre, or Zone to Defend).
It can also be useful if you want and need to store your data locally for your family, but you have the option, if you wish, to connect to it, in which case you have the guarantee that your data is stored on your machine, but you can access it via the internet.
Jeremy: So, we are still working on Clic, which will be available in spring 2023. From then on, you will be able to download and install it in one click on your computers, old computers or small computers, and thus regain control over your data.
