Who knows if the much teased Oblivion remake or remaster is happening, but a glossy makeover risks missing the point. Morrowind, meanwhile, is ripe for it.
The issue is that they’d have to make major changes to the gameplay if they want it to be a viable remake. Old fans won’t buy, new fans will still find it too clunky. Oblivion was the ideal remake because of how it’s a middle ground between old and new RPG design philosophies. I love Morrowind to death, it was my intro to TES (which is now my favorite game series) but Oblivion is the ideal here.
