Just finished this tamiya 1:48 spitfire! It’s such a lovely kit with brilliant fit. I can’t use an airbrush so had some issues with paint texture but I’m happy with the outcome and had fun building it :) View of the spitfire seat and seatbelts

Thanks! It was a toss up between this and the eduard kit for me. How did you find it? Top of the craft is revell enamel paint so I didn’t have too much issues. However I foolishly used tamiya paint on the bottom which I discovered is more for air brushing. I managed to get some paint retarder but it still didn’t look quite right :(

The eduard kit is very good and the detail on it is amazing, fit was excelent except for the top and bottom engine cover which produced quite an ugly seam line but pretty easy to solve with some putty or superglue. And yeah tamiya paint works a lot better through an airbrush, I often thin it with isopropyl alcohol since it’s an alcohol based paint. But trying to get it right with a brush is a pain. Personally gave up on trying that after a while and started using either aqueous mr hobby, vallejo or ammo mig for brush painting, depending on what I can get my hands on. The first one of those 3 also thinned with isopropyl and the latter 2 with vallejo’s thinner or airbrush flow improver (even for brush painting).
