I have no proof of this but I used to work over night in a parking garage toll booth and I was incredibly bored all night and I couldn’t afford a DS because I worked in a toll booth. All I had was an old GameBoy Color and the original Super Mario remake. So I played it basically all night every night. I started timing myself as a way to pass the time and one night, beat the world record by a second. No idea if it even counts since I was playing a remake but I was pretty proud.
