The concept of the app store was always a walled garden—anyone using it could expect a guarantee the content was reviewed to exclude malware and the payment system was directed through a single party with an expectation for security.
Now that the store has lost control of one of those elements, I would expect a notice like this.
If it were a grocery store, and a farmer won the right to operate inside a grocery store but charge separately from the registers at the front of the store, wouldn’t it be confusing if the store didn’t communicate that to the customers who thought they were just buying from a single store?
