Dracula, Prisoner of Frankenstein (1972) is the movie for this Sunday’s “monsterdon” watch party over on Mastodon, our fediverse sibling!
- Just start watching that movie this Sunday, June 8, 2025 at 9pm ET / 8pm CT / 6pm PT which is 1am Monday UTC
- and follow #monsterdon over on mastodon for live commentary. For example, you can follow that hashtag here: https://mastodon.social/tags/monsterdon
- I usually open two web browser windows side-by-side on a computer. But you could follow the mastodon commentary on a phone app while watching the movie on TV or something.
How to watch the movie:
- tubi (US, England, Canada, Australia, NZ?; uBlock Origin adblocker on Firefox should work for this): https://tubitv.com/movies/100040021/dracula-prisoner-of-frankenstein
- someone usually streams it on https://miru.miyaku.media/ at that time
- if you want to pay and/or watch ads, look here: https://www.justwatch.com/us/movie/dracula-prisoner-of-frankenstein
The film follows Dr. Rainer von Frankenstein (Price), who successfully captures Count Dracula (Vernon). Along with the Doctor’s monster (Fernando Bilbao) the doctor controls the vampire for his own evil ends. The film is a co-production between Spain, Portugal, France and Liechtenstein.
…
From contemporary reviews in Spain, a review in La Vanguardia said the film would be entertaining to audiences, stating that the plot was confusing and “delirious” which would make audiences either react in fear or laughter.[9] El Mundo Deportivo praised the cinematography, while stating that the plot lacks originality; and that the focus on the quality photography made the plot lose its rhythm.[2] In the Canadian newspaper L’Action [fr] found the film lacked subtlety and the end result was more grotesque than horrific and that Dennis Price was unconvincing in the role of Dr. Frankenstein.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dracula,_Prisoner_of_Frankenstein
