Mine is Resident evil 2 remake, played it when it came out and it’s what got me into the Resident evil franchise in the first place, didn’t play the games before then
I haven’t played 2 or 3, so i cant say how they compare, but RE:4 is an excellent game.
I thought the GameCube version was perfect, though a copy is probably expensive now. I also played it on PS2 and i remember it being a decent enough port. I’d expect any version for any system is going to be a fun time. It’s hectic, scary, and you never have enough resources but that’s the game. The chainsaw guys are particularly memorable.
RE:5 is alright. Same controls as RE:4, but the whole game is co-op and the setting has gone from cheesy Spain pastiche to racist West Africa pastiche. Pretty fun with a partner, not very good alone.
Currently working through RE:1 on Saturn. I like it so far, but it’s a lot more obtuse compared to RE:4 or 5. Loving the FMV sequences though, they should have kept doing those the whole series.
The Remake of the first Resident Evil is not only the best RE game, but also one of the best horror games, period.
My favourites are undoubtedly REmake, RE3 (OG) and Revelations 1. My RE tier list is quite unconventional, though, so I doubt many will agree with me.
My favorite would be RE1 Remake. I also really liked 7 and Code Veronica. I like all of them except 6.
