FFXIV runs great on Linux even without using third-party tools. No XIV Launcher, no Lutris. Only use Steam, it works for both.

Windows only Non-steam game version. (keep 1.0 toons)

Go to steam store and download the free trial of FFXIV

Set launch options Using “echo “%command%” | sed ‘s/-issteam(freetrial|)//’ | sh” without quotations

I had zero issues. It runs better on Pop OS then on windows. I hope this can help someone. I did not make this; big thank you to BeppisMAX person from protondb.
