This is Burgerkrieg. His videos on the World of Darkness are very entertaining, if you’re into longform multi hour lore-drops

This video was awesome! It went into precisely the level of detail I wanted to see of all the historical stuff. I cross-posted it over to !vamp_tm@ttrpg.network, the dedicated VtM/WoD Community.

Which other videos from this guy do you recommend?

I’m curious about how the lore has (or has not) changed between the original release of V5 and now. The only book I’ve really read has been the Core Rulebook, and I’m wondering what I might be missing. He talked a tiny amount about Kuei-jin and how they’re similar to but not the same as Kindred, but what does that mean exactly? What makes them similar-but-different? Since the main game seems focused on European and American vampires, how do they fit in to a game set in Asia? How would Asian vampires fit in in a game set in a western country, or particularly a melting pot with significant Asian immigration like Australia?

So glad you liked him! I need to go subscribe over there.

So I enjoyed his World of Darkness videos, they’re all on a playlist and his sense of humor regarding the content is pretty peak. I first found him though because he makes a lot of men’s liberation content which was something I was seeking out during a mental health crisis. He calls it “feminism but for men” and presents it as an alternative to the men’s rights brainrot that was going around the last five years.

As for the version differences in VtM he does talk about them in all his videos because V5 apparently nullified the mechanics of clans themselves, opting to treat them instead as a modifier for the cost of disciplines and not much else. So he describes how to work them back in if you’re running a game and want to or in his clan description videos he describes them both pre and post V5.

I don’t know if you played Masquerade: Bloodlines 1, but it has the only game content about Kuei-jin that I’ve heard him talk about so far. They’re not handled amazingly for the setting which is the summer of 1999 in LA, so they should be a way more pivotal role in the game but they’re at least tangibly there and involved in the main plot. It has them occupying a large Chinatown section in the game. Just not enough, in a lot of people’s opinions. I can’t speak more to it because my only interaction with them was in Bloodlines though.
