Windshield is perforated. Melting is present around the perforation. This means it was extremely hot, yet, flammable material are not burned up.
And so, this is not from a fire inside a car.

I checked the charts, and you’re correct. Cars are still 55% cast iron and steel.
I guess it’s a good thing you weren’t in it at the time.
