I hate feeling drunk, which is why as I close in on 60 I’ve been actually drunk a number of times you can count on one hand (most of those when I was in my 20s). But I like the feeling of a drink inside of me. So, to quote @Hildegarde:
I kind of like the feeling of being drunk, but its absolutely not worth the cost of the hangover the next day. I drink a lot less now. Turns out I no longer need self destructive coping mechanisms once I addressed the underlying issue!
I do enjoy alcohol, particularly wine, slowly in small quantities.

I’ve never had a hangover, so I can’t really comment on that side of drinking.
Good, they are best avoided.
