Some people don’t have the financial resources or mental health required to maintain their hygiene in extreme circumstances

I don’t get it. What do you mean? Everyone can wash. And everyone can use antiperspirants (there are cheap ones).

People with mental health issues struggle to do basic self care tasks sometimes as it seems overwhelming. Its actually a sign to look for in your friends and family if they start neglecting personal hygiene, as it can lead you to getting them help

even just executive dysfunction (which MANY people have) can make stuff like showering absolutely exhausting, because it’s actually a WHOLE bunch of steps in disguise. Get a towel, take off your clothes (every item is its own step, mentally), get in the bathroom and close the door, etc etc etc i can’t even be arsed to list all the fucking steps dear god.

I’ve had to stop even trying to use shampoo because if i did i would never shower at all. I’m happy if manage to get myself into the shower and rinse off like… a couple times per month, if that…

I just want a sonic shower like in star trek: just clothes off, get in shower and BWEEEEEEEM, clothes back on.
