Context matters, but this guy is just seeing masks and assuming both sides are doing it for the same reason… no amount of reasoning will ever persuade an idiot.
I mean at an incredibly reductive to the point of uselessness level the masks are being worn to protect identity but that’s not actually relevant when we’re talking about the motivations specifically. Like saying that holding your breath is always counterproductive to breathing while ignoring that humans regularly swim under water.
