Yeah, a PS5 you own is a sunk cost, and new tech isn’t cheap - it makes sense to keep using what you have, although canceling PS Plus would be a good start before not getting a PS6.

I notice they chose August when September is the month that all the games that were scared to release near GTA6 come out. That would be far more effective if they wanted to send a message.

A protest by gamers who are worried about the sunk cost is less effective than one where Sony is worried about their sunk cost.

It’s not so much “worried” about the sunk cost, it’s simple practicality - you already have a PS5, might as well use it. Just don’t give Sony money for PS Plus or buy any of their future consoles. If most people cancelled their PS Plus accounts, I guarantee Sony would notice far more than a week-long blackout. But they won’t.

I mean, I support their direction and efforts, I’m just doubtful they’ll manage a large movement.

This is a really sad time not to have large competitors. Could be at the least they move to Nintendo in protest - sadly I wouldn’t join that as I hate Nintendo for other reasons, and they’re not much better in terms of digital carts.
