Lara Trump said Wednesday while campaigning for her father-in-law ahead of the South Carolina primary that she was not familiar with the RNC’s rules about paying Donald Trump’s legal fees in a multitude of criminal and civil cases. But she said she thought the idea would get broad support among GOP voters who see his legal cases as political persecution.
Lol, okay. Not unexpected.
“Having someone like me in there I think will go a long way for people. I can assure you that my loyalty is to my father-in-law and I will make sure that every penny is used properly,” she said.
Again, completely expected. But then,
Lara Trump said if she is made co-chair of the RNC, her loyalty would be to her father-in-law, but she believed the organization would stick to its policy of staying neutral in primary contests, saying, “I don’t know why we would change course on that now.”
BWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Neutral, lol.
As soon as the Trumps gain control of the RNC – and I do mean the very minute they show this bitch to her new office and the papers are signed – the GOP primary season will be over, Trump will be handed the ticket, Nikki Haley will be discarded without comment (which was always the plan), the cash will be drained to fund Trump’s legal fees and hamberder/Depends bills, and GOP corporate bankruptcies on the state level will bloom like mold on last week’s takeout leftovers.
Does it matter that the GOP donors will pay his legal fees? That just means less money to campaign.
Im not sure it should be legal though. I am no longer a democrat so I have nothing on the line, but I’d still be frustrated if Biden was using DNC funds for personal shit
But Trump is trying very hard to conflate his legal fees with campaign costs, which is where it gets tricky. I cannot imagine a single penny of the E. Jean Carroll verdict counts as a “campaign expense” by even the broadest possible definition, but his legal expenses in regard to the attempted coup, fake electors, and other election fuckery could possibly be considered connected to his campaign.
I’m not clear on the legal separation between the RNC coffers and PAC money, but there is every likelihood that this is illegal on the face of it – or if not, exceedingly close to the line – depending on which specific legal fee the cash goes toward paying.
LOL so you are telling me he is actively committing crimes in the open that can be investigated and potentially tried in the coming years?
Can this man even get out of bed in the morning without committing a crime?

Anybody see any different outcome here?
You’ve understated how much the RNC will simply become a Trump-family slush fund. Otherwise I think you’re spot on.

It’s not legal at all, nor ethical, to use campaign money for personal expenses.
