Gretchen Whitmer responds to calls by some Democrats to vote āuncommittedā in Michiganās primary on Tuesday
Gretchen Whitmer, the Michigan governor, pushed back on calls to not vote for Joe Biden over his handling of the Israel-Gaza conflict, saying on Sunday that could help Trump get re-elected.
āItās important not to lose sight of the fact that any vote thatās not cast for Joe Biden supports a second Trump term,ā she said on Sunday during an interview on CNNās State of the Union. āA second Trump term would be devastating. Not just on fundamental rights, not just on our democracy here at home, but also when it comes to foreign policy. This was a man who promoted a Muslim ban.ā
Whitmer, who is a co-chair of Bidenās 2024 campaign, also said she wasnāt sure what to expect when it came to the protest vote.

Put simply, Iām an individual that wonāt vote for genocide. Itās a red line. When I say that there are lots of others out there like me, Iām not trying to influence anything. Iām stating a very simple truth.
There a lots, probably enough to cost an election, of people that wonāt cross that red line.
Itās especially true in Michigan where a requisite part of the coalition that is required for a Democratic win is of an ethnicity/religion that heavily identifies with the population being genocided.
When you read people stating this, stop thinking of it as some foreign operation trying to shape opinion, and recognize it for what it is. The simple truth, that people who donāt want Trump to be president, are trying to get the DNC to recognize.

The reason the trolly problem exists is to show that morality isnāt some easily answered question. But it applies perfectly here.
Any choice you make results in support for Israel. Literally any choice, including āno choiceā which is still a choice. So you have to ask yourself, if all roads lead to that specific thing still happening, should you not vote to protect the things that are still possible? Or should you throw LGBTQ+ individuals, drag queens, reproductive rights, and more under the bus?

No, Biden did not win the Michigan primary by 11k. Do you know how numbers work? Your image even shows the numbers. Where do you see 11k?
He won with ~623k votes, which represented just over 81% of the total votes. Contrast that to 2020, in which he won with just over 840k votes, or just shy of 53%.
