A primary aim for Trumpās legal team, according to people familiar with the strategy, is to put the judge in DC overseeing the 2020 federal election obstruction case, Tanya Chutkan, in a position where she canāt start a trial before Election Day
This is just ragebait. Trumpās legal team is about as competent as a bucket of dirt. The judges arenāt stupid, excepting Canon, and sheās in hot water as it is with how sheās running her courtroom.
CNNās owners are all-in trying to get Trump reelected, so take anything they put out this year as in service of that goal. This article reads like someone trying to make Trump look stronger than he is, rather than a sniveling coward, backed into a corner, trying anything and everything to delay.
CNNās owners are all-in trying to get Trump reelected
ā¦while pretending to do the exact opposite.
(At least CBSā former CEO was honest about it.)
This comment is a breath of fresh air
Thanks for seeing through the bs.
Trumpās legal team in the civil cases is pathetic. The lawyers in the DC case are relatively competent (eg they have successfully gotten the supreme Court to halt the case by squatting on the immunity appeal).
Crooked judges gonna crook.
Reminder: CNNās current CEO is a traitor & has a vested interest in a Trump dictatorship.
The Federal courts are well aware of Trumpās delay strategies & so far only Canon is playing his game. Canon will very likely be removed from this trial with her upcoming FISA screw-up.
This prosecution road map is still on track, in fact we are ahead of schedule due to Trump not opting for an appeal recently.
thatās just stupid if everyone knows why heās doing it, why in the holy hell would they allow it unless itās all just theater ĀÆā \ā _ā (ā ćā )ā _ā /ā ĀÆ
This is the best summary I could come up with:
One way to hamper Chutkan is to convince the judge in Florida, Aileen Cannon, to moveĀ TrumpāsĀ Mar-a-Lago document mishandling trialĀ from late May untilĀ theĀ summer.
But aĀ gradually shifting calendar couldĀ be just as effective atĀ shieldingĀ Trump from other trials through the summer, multiple sources familiar with the former presidentās legal strategy told CNN.
And the prosecutors and defense teams are engaged in protracted court fights over access to evidence ā classified records and information from far corners of the federal government ā that Cannon still has to resolve.
She drew bipartisan criticism in the legal world for how she handled an earlier part of the case and has moved slowly to resolve the pretrial issues.
When July nears, Trumpās team or the special counselās office could ask Cannon again to move the Mar-a-Lago trial back, and she may consider it because of the complexities in the case.
New YorkĀ state Supreme CourtĀ Judge Juan Merchan, who is overseeing TrumpāsĀ hush money criminalĀ case, disclosed publicly he had been in touch with Chutkan as recently as this month.
The original article contains 1,509 words, the summary contains 168 words. Saved 89%. Iām a bot and Iām open source!
Why would the judge care? Just start as well. He has different lawyers so they can represent him. The prosecution needs to start anyway, so just get going.
Because for a criminal proceeding, the accused must appear. Canāt be in two places at once.
Do it on alternating daysā¦ have him fly up and down. Heās a billionaire he can afford it.
