Lots of great stuff here. Tons of tuning, exotic adjustments, and more. They’ve included a video preview of the Monte Carlo catalyst, the most complex they’ve done, and yes, it’s exactly what you think! And Touch of Malice, my beloved, is getting a nice buff. Anyway, too much for me to add here, so dive in and point out your highlights in the comments.
All good changes in my estimation! I personally can’t wait to try buffed hand cannons in PVE. I never played D1…
Monte Carlo Stabbin’ Time!
Only negative I spotted in the post is the reduction to heavy drops when running double special, but that’s pretty understandable given the way I’ve never run out of ammo with Retrofit Escapade.
Can’t wait to try out Monte Carlo, I have a feeling it’s going to be amazing on Shadebinder!
Not major but le mon is getting a decrease in poison duration which will allow PvE enemies to regen shields faster and make the intrinsic overload a bit less effective. Also, chill clip nerf which is unfortunate but understandable for riptide (and others like bump in the night)
Sad, but it’s insane as it is right now. Throw on double special and heavy is a literal joke. I hope it’s still viable, but it definitely needed some changes.
IMO it depends on the kind of double special you use. If it involves a trace rifle you’ll probably be fine, but you might need to be a little more careful ammo wise. Stuff like Izanagi+Forbearance will become much more difficult, if not impossible to run though.
I’m definitely interested in experimenting after the new season launches next week. Most of my double special builds are very ability heavy, so hopefully the ammo economy will still be alright.
I’ve only used trace rifles with it, mainly my Hollow Denial with Lead from Gold too.
Weapon xp not rolling over between levels was so dumb. Very glad that’s getting addressed with the amount of crafted guns we have.

I’m surprised that Bungie says that bows have poor registration at long ranges, when it’s usually a bow from across the map that kills me from around a corner. I’ve been here thinking that bows actually have too strong of registration due to the fact that they’re still projectiles and lag causes arrows to make impossible connections. Kinda weird that they’re going to make them even stronger.
Is this maybe more of a PvE thing? Lightweight bows in particular can be unreliable at range since the arrow travels to where the enemy used to be, and with the way bullet/arrow magnetism works, it’s basically impossible to lead the target properly.
