Original time line has 365.2421897… days per year. That makes it too easy to skip leap years every now and then. So what if it was the opposite direction?
Years are set as 360 day intervals. A month has 30 days, no more, no fewer. That’s 5 6-day weeks (and “hump day” can get humped) per month. Typical work schedules are 2 days on, 1 day off or 4 on, 2 off. Major holidays are on days 0, 90, 180 and 270. 45, 135, 225 and 315 are not federally-recognized holidays but people still tend to mark the occasion with a nice family dinner or by visiting with friends.
All leftover time not accounted for with this system is allocated to dogs since they don’t live long enough under the current rules.

… is how I would arrange it.
Then I would slowly market test novelty months and make a big deal about the ones that I eventually lazily leave in the line up forever.
Edit: And before anyone asks, “why February?”. Two reasons:
- February has always gotten short shift. It’s time is overdue.

You would have another leap day every however many years (roughly ten?) required by the discrepancy. So like if we have one for 2020, 2024, 2028, 2032, 2036, etc, you could also add a leap day in 2030 or 2034, whenever it makes sense.
13 months of 28 days, so each 1st is also always a Monday. And then we have newyearsday as a special… and can add a second or third newyearsday where needed before the 13 month cycle starts again.

A leap day every 4 years as well as every 99 years. Meaning once every 396 years February would have 30 days.
this isnt really a day problem its a minute issue. to make noon work we have to cut a minute off every day or by the time we get to the other side of the sun we would be back to front.
Rotation of the earth around its axis and rotation around the sun are different. (Technically there would be a very small change in solar day, but really the question is about rotation around the Sun.)
