She’s okay; our ladies won the Conti Cup (against Chelsea Ladies no less); and our men exorcised some long-standing demons and stood tall defensively against Man City away - and got 4 points out of 6 this season against them. Pretty good weekend all things considered!
What are people’s thoughts on the kerfuffle about Eidevall and the Chelsea manager? Bit weird of her to aggressively shove Jonas when he tried to shake her hand at the end of the match, and then accuse him of ‘male aggression’ over the earlier throw-in argument. :/ Touch of ‘pot meet kettle’ (or just being a sore loser) IMO.
Emma Hayes, though a great manager, has always given off an aura of sore winner and loser, kind of makes sense when you see Chelsea. Makes her a match in heaven with USWNT though, I cannot wait for the drama that will ensue after she takes over (sorry Emily!). Unfortunate that she came out of our set up.
Having slept on it. Assuming we make it past Bayern, I’d prefer City in the CL semis. We’ve shown we can nullify them home and away and beat them at our place.
Arteta dumping Pep out of the CL would also be a huge milestone and end this stupid master student narrative the media keeps rehashing.
Unless Arteta knocking Pep out results in Pep retiring in shame (like some sort of football Sith relationship), I think you’d have to be very optimistic to think that the media will drop that narrative anytime soon.

I actually don’t agree with letting Beth and Leah back into the fold this soon after such serious injuries. The previous window, which was a bit pointless with the friendlies, should’ve brought more youth call ups to see how they fare. This window obviously with qualifiers you need your senior players, but it has become a bit stagnant.
