The Gurkhas or Gorkhas (/ˈɡɜːrkə, ˈɡʊər-/), with the endonym Gorkhali (Nepali: गोर्खाली [ɡorkʰali]), are soldiers native to the Indian subcontinent, chiefly residing within Nepal and some parts of North India
Famed for being so badass that after the Anglo-Nepalese war, the British signed a treaty so that the Gurkhas could join their army and fight for them instead.
The British Army still has Gurkha regiments to this day, along with the Indian Army. And they’re still badass - if you want an example, check out Dipprasad Pun
Gurkhas are hard af
My ex was a Gurkha, I still miss her sometimes. Crazy girl.
Rocking that smaller hitbox
“The three sounds the German solider hates most are the haka, for it means the Maori Battalions are coming, the bagpipe, for it means the Scottish Rifle Brigades are coming, and silence, for it means the Gurkhas are coming.”
Is the Gurkha on his knees, or just really short?
Gurkhas are generally very short. The average height of a Nepalese male is 5ft 4.5in according to Wikipedia
He’s probably short but Americans typically were taller than most people at the time IIRC
