Price segmentation at its finest.
It really just means I’ll wait until the ultimate edition is 70% off or the base game ends up in humble monthly/gamepass/PS+.
If the good version of the game isn’t priced reasonably then we have other options for our time and attention.
This is what I have been doing the last few years: you get a full fledged, bugs free game for €20. And it is not like there are a shortage of games to be played in the meantime.
I’ve got 110-130 dollars that says people will buy it anyway and the publisher will make a fortune.
This is Ubi so its essentially pay what you want.
They will milk the day 1 sales as much as they can and then have a fire sale a few weeks later.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage Master Assassin Edition launched 14-nov-2023 and had discounts of 30% off on 14-dec-2023.
Your visions of the coming future are odd.
Sadly, this is the smart bet.
See you on the discount rack
I’m not paying $130 for a game unless it comes with an actual lightsaber.
What a stupid price. My guess is that it will be discounted very shortly after the release as no one is paying that much money
I hate to say it but I guarantee it will sell over 100k copies on launch with those prices.
Well, I did pay $70 for Shadow of the Beast for the Amiga in 1987, which nets out to $160 today, but in my defence it was the special edition that came with a cool T-shirt and a Roger Dean poster.
I’d be less annoyed with this if it also came with a cool T-shirt and poster.
