Amazon really should be a defendant in this case. The counterfeiting situation with them (and some other online retailers) is a huge problem when it comes to products that can impact health and safety. And they need to be held accountable too.

The problem is that too often Amazon just dumps products of the same kind into bins in their fulfillment warehouse without sufficiently checking if some are counterfeit. This means buyers think they are purchasing a legit product, but it’s a coin toss whether they get an authentic one or whether they get a counterfeit item.
