Eh they are starting to treat their guests like thieves though.

    Check ID before entering

    Check ID when checking out

Check ID in self Check, while they check you out

Check receipt on exit despite their own employees checking you out.

    It’s wearing thin

They’ve always done this: they require a membership, and they check that when you go, and scan it when you check out.

If you don’t want to shop at a store that doesn’t use a membership system, there’s other options who also treat you like a criminal. Loblaw, for example, has man-traps at the exit, which is a lot worse than a perky co-worker drawing a smiley on your receipt.

Lol I know they have always checked ID. I’m a member. All I was commenting on was they used to just glance at you coming in, wave a card or app and in you go. Now they have scanners at the front, and they won’t even let you self checkout now. It’s just little things that add annoyance to shopping there.

There are things that actually matter but you’re upset about clubs checking membership lists. Ok.

Yikes I was just complaining about some new policies there, not calling on riots and boycots.

I think post-covid shoplifting and specifically organized crime pushed a lot of this.

still prefer the way costco spends the money I give it on taking care of their people instead of dumping them onto the public to care for.
