minus-squareGBU_28@lemm.eelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up9·4 months agoNot closing windows, but blinds. Closing doors only helps if you close the vents too. And hey, there could be someone reading this thread who just moved into their first place, or moved to a hot climate for the first time.
minus-squareNorthWestWind@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up4arrow-down1·4 months agoAh right, vents. I don’t have any. I don’t think anyone at where I live has vents in their houses ( actually, apartments) And I just felt like it would be common sense to trap heat/cold.
minus-squareGBU_28@lemm.eelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4·4 months agoRight but some folks might not think about how having open blinds can cause a lot of warming as sunlight pours through
minus-squarePsythik@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1arrow-down2·4 months agoThen this thread isn’t for you because it doesn’t get hot where you live. No sane person would live in a home without a central HVAC in an area that gets real heat. Swamp coolers and those portable window A/Cs just can’t keep up.

minus-squarePsythik@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1arrow-down1·4 months ago32°C is not hot, no matter the humidity. Come talk to me when it’s 45°+ with 35-45%RH for three months straight.
