  • You’re already getting Rhino, which I consider to be the closest to a “must have” a new player should aim for, as far as survivability go. In regards to other frames and weapons go, if you have the time to grind one whenever a new Assassination unlocks, go for it. Don’t need to be all at once, sometimes the RNG is cruel, but make a note of any that you skip. You’ll probably want to avoid the really annoying grinds, like Trinity, Equinox or Protea; thankfully they all have Prime versions now, but even that will be a matter of time.

You may also do some Nightmare missions, or crack Relics (if you’re earning them, of course), weekly Ayatan or Clem, etc.

For Syndicates, try to not overdo yourself, they can feel a little too much. From the basic ones, pick one of the sides (there’s three on the left and three on the right) which will all synergize with each other, and just do basic missions while having a Pledge. For all the bounty-related groups, pick one or two and do a few missions when you’re able. If that’s too much for a single day, just pick one and go at your own pace.

As you climb through MR, check the Market for new blueprints unlocks. At MR6 you should have access to the Kohm, the Hek and the Atomos, which are all fairly great new player weapons. If you’re in a clan, check out for the Ignis Wraith as well.

And when you find a couple of weapons that feel comfortable, try to level up the ones that aren’t so good to earn a little MR along the way. Put either your favorite primary or secondary, and then equip level 0 weapons on the other spaces and get some affinity. You don’t need to always do this, but its important to not let the MR linger too long.

In general, Warframe is a game that’s best enjoyed at your own pace. There are very few timed events, and even fewer that are rare (Plague Star and the seasonal ones come to mind), so you rarely feel like you’re missing out on something.

  • I can see a lot of these, the S tier in particular feel almost obvious. The frames that are essentially capable of soloing most content, with either extreme damage, high survivability, or a combination of both. I haven’t played with other Gauss enough to gauge his strengths, however, so its the odd one out for me.

Mostly I’m wondering about the higher tier picks, maybe because I don’t play as often, but I rarely see a lot of those choices in the field, save for Duviri matches. Baruuk, Mag, Protea (people really grind for her???), and Titania are all very rare sights for me, even though I don’t think they are particularly bad.

  • Without knowing the specifics of your preferred builds, I’ll talk about broad strokes and my current setup. Also fair warning, even though I played this for a little bit, I never got much into the mechanics meta and don’t know a lot of intricacies, I mostly look up builds online and copy them :P

The three basics you’ll have to focus on, no matter if its Steel Path, Archon Hunt or Netracells, are Survivability, Debuffs and Damage Types.

For Survivability, buffing your Armor, Shields and Health is the ‘raw’ way to progress, but any other type of Damage Reduction will be more than welcome, Nova’s particles for example. Hildryn, Rhino, Wisp, and Citrine are some of my easy to build survival options.

In regards to Debuffs, Armor Stripping is almost always going to be your top choice. Corrosive Projection aura is a great pick for a lot of builds, and so is getting Hildryn’s Pillage through Helminth.

And a variety of Damage Types is always good, but even more for high level missions. You’ll want at least something that can deal with Shields and something for Health at the same time, though your arsenal and your frame will both have several options to play around. Saryn, Citrine, Hydroid are all interesting, and of course any mod you play up and slot in your weapons will aid.

My current Netracell/Archon/Steel Path destroyer is Gyre. Her 3+4 has a constant electric output that melts shields, and I generally wield a Ignis Wraith to deal with the remaining health. She’s so good I barely focused on Arcanes for a while, but Arcane Energy and Barrier are both ‘default’ options when you don’t know what to slot, and I also only started fusing Shards in her after I was ‘done’ with the build. I also run her with CorPro and Pillage, as well as a Helios Prime for extra damage.

These are the general builds I use, though you can always adjust to your liking:

  • I took a 4 year break in 2019 when I had essentially done all I wanted, New War was a distant release and Railjacks were disappointing. I wouldn’t say to spend that long without playing, but in a game like this, there’s only so many things you can do before you reach a personal endpoint. Its better to take a break and find other games to try while DE releases new updates rather than burning yourself out of the gameplay loop by assigning constant personal challenges.

  • One of my “Prime Only” frames as I will never fully farm their absurd requirements. Equinox is another “back in the day” Frame, as a lightweight healer and buffer that slowly got pushed into the corner by stronger and more readily available options.

I’m not sure about 1 being entirely just for Metamorphosis feels a little like a waste, though I think it’d be also simpler if they were split as one side affects enemies and one side affects allies. So Day would be all buffs and healing, and Night would be all debuffs and damages, for example.

  • IMO Chroma suffers from the two concurrent issues of DE design, which are “having a specialty in a game where 95% of the focus is ultraviolence” and “I’m you but better”

The first is obvious, at the end of the day Warframe is about killing everything as quickly and efficiently as possible. Sometimes you need to kill while protecting, sometimes you need to kill while flying, but you’re almost always going to be killing. That is, until you get something like a Sortie Spy. That’s when - and probably only when - you break out Ash or Ivara; Are they bad? No, but they clearly have 1 Specific Function.

The second is, with time, DE just makes a better frame that works in that specialty. Back when I started playing in 2019-ish, Oberon and Trinity were the healing frames, Chroma was something of a tank. They were the ones you’d take on Eidolon, for example, given that Harrow was absurd to farm. Nowadays you have Wisp, Hildryn, more prime versions, and they keep releasing more. I haven’t seen an Oberon ever since getting back to playing at the end of last year (funny enough, I also haven’t Eidolon farmed since the new open world areas are much more interesting)

Honestly, I’m not sure what even to do with some of these. When you have 50+ frames and still counting, you’re going to run into redundancies and more precise augmentations.

  • This is one of the times where I feel like the odd one out. I love Mesa’s design, especially the Prime version, but the gameplay style just doesn’t vibe with me. It doesn’t feel active or passive enough, standing in a middle ground where I’d rather pick a full-support or an agile damage dealer instead; The Peacemakers are very cool in theory, I just don’t enjoy using them in practice.

  • Limbo is an amazing frame for missions where you have to actually defend something, the issue is that there are very few of that mission type. It doesn’t help that the mission literally named Defense is actually a Secret Extermination and you do not want someone that makes it harder to kill enemies there.
