I aim to be more human. I aim to be less apathetic as a human. Apathy grows, like a tree, and I aim to prune my own.

The best part of that show is how it grew with the times, while approaching difficult topics.
If you buy the old seasons on dvd, they come with content warnings saying they aren’t really suitable for children anymore. But back then they were so hugely progressive!

Totally completely unrelated to anything you said. Just a hookup between arborists and people who need an entire dump truck load of free wood chips unceremoniously unloaded in their driveway at a random future time.
So just an absolute rage of hormones and oxytocin? Sounds miserable to me, but I’m ace-aro so what do I know?
You can get an oxytocin nasal spray, right now, to enhance your bonding if you so choose.
Aww I’m super glad to hear it improved your day, and you’ll be able to find it again in the future!
I get the same reaction to it, I think it’s the use of flat melancholic notes scattered throughout, such as in the refrain “I’d like to make myself believe, that planet earth turns slowly”. For me anyway. I love that sort of upbeat but sorrowful sort of thing. It gives me intense frisson (aka aesthetic shiver, aka that chill down your spine when something hits just right).
The sound of silence covered by Pentatonix also gives me mad frisson every time I hear it. And for the same reason I think.
Someone just jelly of my amazing taste in nearly-20-year-old music, probably 😊
Those low points are interesting. I wonder what causes them.
For the one around Xmas, I assume it’s to do with hospitals not being open so anything scheduled, like induced labor or c-section, would be delayed around it… same with new years. And I guess 4th of July? But if that’s the cause, why not the other federal holidays?
(I’m assuming this is US data just by the negative spike in July and the habit of births being scheduled and induced)
Pretty sure that line is a reference to this. One of my fave songs :)
Having spent way too long playing rimworld I’m pretty sure that’s a kitchen and cold storage space. The white thing on the exterior wall is the cooler, the middle room is the kitchen counter, the outer room that connects to the hall is a dining area.
The lack of doors direct from the cooler out is intentional because your people will cut through there if there’s a door and you’ll struggle to maintain temps and cleanliness, so your people are more likely to get sick.
Higher here, by quite a bit.
This is really cool news!
I really hope they someday also figure out ways to gene therapy tinnitus away. Lizard genes for my sound hairs to make them regrow would be sweet.
I’ve tried really hard, and sampled many brands, but other than soy in lattes sometimes, I can’t stand plant based milk in my coffee. Some of it is fine stuff for other uses, or even just drinking, but it just doesn’t come close to the flavor I like as part of my wake up routine. And if my coffee isn’t good it sours my whole day, just a bit.
I’d love to have something that tastes like milk and feels like milk and does the job of milk, but is vegan.
Speaking of succubi, I really liked how that was handled in the book “if I pay thee not in gold”, which isn’t the best pro-feminist work, despite being actually written by a woman and centering around a matriarchal society, or even book, by far, but does include the whole idea that
a succubus, upon fucking a woman as a man, turns into a woman the following morning, and when turned into a woman, sex with a man would return the male form.
It was a real eye opener for my teen self, to see not only gender fluidity, but a happy non-monogamous relationship resulting.
I’m ace/aro so the sexy nature is lost on me but the story itself is good. tho… very superficial… they could have done so much more with the way that universe works; it’s genuinely a fascinating concept that I’d love to see explored in more depth.
Still it’s not a long read and worth the effort :)
I’m so much more into the visible hand puppetry. I find that fascinating.
The song is good, but the video style choices are very interesting :)
Unlike in real life, this bee is going home to accolades.
I didn’t go for a walk, but I did get my small flock of chickens outside in a run for my mental health. I got sunburn pretty badly for the effort, too, and it took me well over a week to get the whole thing built. But they were getting annoying inside. Every time I passed the bird room they’d get excited and start launching themselves at the side of their tent. It really set the quail off.
I’m just waiting for someone to complain. I have a license, one of 10 in my town of 15,000. I shouldn’t qualify because of how far into town I am, but I do because I have a unique property and one neighbor who consented (the rest don’t matter, the one is the only within 100ft of the coop). This is all above board, but some people tried keeping geese several years back and had to rehome them because of complaints, so I’m just waiting…
I magneted my license to my front door so hopefully any complaints just sort of go away without my intervention, even if they don’t check city records… but I have one too many because my friend who got my chicks got one too many in case of deaths. I’m good with birds and have never had one die, including quail and conures, so now I just have an extra Buff Orpington.
I’m genuinely both surprised and excited that this ended up being two women.
Could someone with better search skills or knowledge of their discography link to their music for me? I’ve heard it’s good but I legitimately can’t find anything but news videos when I go looking (I don’t use any music handler platforms)
