  • If I may project a little, I think the commenter is pointing to language that’s been cropping up essentially calling big name republicans traitors for endorsing Kamala. While you’re more than allowed to interpret what they said literally, I read it has intentionally a bit hyperbolic to make the point that a huge portion of the Republican Party will literally blindly follow him, even if the party leaders are starting to flake.

    Just remember, rewording this statement:

If big name Republicans aren’t going to vote for him, why are you assuming all other Republicans will?

To the version that would exemplify your interpretation:

If big name Republicans are going to vote for him, why are you assuming all other Republicans will?

Still creates an equally bold, and hyperbolic claim. Sometimes people use words like “all” and don’t really mean every last person. I blame the English language, not the people taking words literally, for misunderstandings like this.

Just remember, especially with politics, people often hype up language a bit, it makes statements carry more oomph, and can help keep supporters excited for whatever movement they are supporting.

  • I’ve stopped playing since Microsoft copilot was announced and I fully ditched windows, but I held on until the final raid because of the gun play, nostalgia, and the representation present in both the studio and the game. I grew up with the Marathon games, and the early Halo series. The DNA of those games is still there and I can’t help but love it. I’ve been chasing a single player experience that gets even close to Destiny’s feel for so long. The System Shock remake is getting close, but I would love a PvE only game from Bungie. For a long time (read pre-Sony-buyout) Bungie was also a sort of hold out for various minority representations I try to support. The studio’s media showed an employee base that is diverse and they often did a good job pushing back against players saying any sort of agenda was being pushed just for including diversity in the game. This made them a company I was much more willing to throw money at, compared to say, activision/blizzard. That sentiment as largely faded for me as the studio had been turned into a “for the shareholders” cow Sony can milk.

  • Dreams of Code on YouTube has a video for a full start to finish arch install specifically including full disk encryption. While my computer is far from “slow” it’s also nothing crazy, and other than adding a second password to my bootup process, the decrypting really doesn’t take long.

  • I’ve hit a point where I’ll ask staff for their Venmo and pay them directly if I really feel compelled to support them for quality service. Particularly at a lot of bars or clubs I do this. I don’t really drink much, so I’ll often go whole nights just getting waters from a bartender and then ask them for their Venmo so I can still tip them for all the free water. I’m also generally willing to tip well at local small businesses where half the time I know the people working there.

  • Oh damn. Okay, realizing that a lot of my “pickiness” with clothes was actually a ‘tism thing opened a lot of doors, but also turned into a bit of a rollercoaster. I started my transition at the same time as it really clicked I was neurodivergent so my desires to explore fashion I felt I had been robbed of clashed with my sensory stuff.

I prefer tighter under-things, not going into detail why, but hopefully y’all can piece it together. Most of my shirts are 100% cotton, mostly looser and cropped shorter because I’ve got a tiny torso. I hate it when I feel like a shirt is sticking around my hips and has to pull itself up when I lean/twist. So loose flowy tops generally, unless I’m going for a specific fashion moment. This extends to bras. Usually softer “t-shirt” bras, but I can put up with something less comfortable so long as I look particularly good in it and I’m not wearing it for a full day.

Pants have been a journey. I used to get really bad eczema on the backs of my knees, so for a long time I only wore shorts. Year round, rain, shine, snow. Jeans in particular were a real struggle as a kid. I grew out of my eczema, so I’ve forced myself to at least try a lot of the pants I hated as a kid again. This made me discover the wonderful world of second hand jeans. The big reason I couldn’t handle jeans as a kid was I would be trying new, un-broken in, jeans, and they are just waaaaayyyyy too scratchy.

Outer layers. Idk, so long as my base is comfy, I use outer layers as fashion opportunities.

Oh v necks or at least relaxed neck line shirts only. Normal t-shirt neck lines feel like I’m being choked, and not in the fun way.

I got long winded, I think that’s most of the specifics I usually deal with.

  • I also want to get into this!! I’m over six foot, and like 75% legs now that I wear my pants in the right spot. Buying pants is quite literally impossible on a bad day, and compromising on a good day. I do have a few YouTube creators for making your own underwear, but I’ll have to track them down later. Please remind me if I haven’t done that in like a day or so. The one I’m thinking of does mostly lingerie, but she might have videos of more basics further back in her catalogue.
