New England always on top, in our own way; confusing to those who aren’t from around here.

Ashe@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto World News@lemmy.world•Ontario slapping 25% surcharge on U.S.-bound electricity Monday, Ford says English3·4 months agoSomeone I know just keeps telling me he disagrees with every policy that’s bad, while also saying he agrees with Trump for 50 things per the 5 he disagrees with.
Anyway that relationship is very sour as you can imagine
Ashe@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto World News@lemmy.world•Ontario slapping 25% surcharge on U.S.-bound electricity Monday, Ford says English7·4 months agoThis read as downplaying Canada’s significance for a moment, and then immediately circled back to the US being the isolationist Pariah state it is becoming
They’re horrific and apparently invisible to people. Any time I point them out I’ve been called crazy and told I was overreacting. Until driving around Illinois with a coworker when he started to understand the scale of it all. The more I see the more dizzying it becomes. There needs to be regulation for them
No this is honest. I travel a lot for work and I feel like I see more Trump signs in CT than I did in KY. Not to say that there aren’t more Trump supporters in KY, but they are a LOUD minority
These people are genuinely insane. The locals in CT act genuinely surprised when they get any pushback against their Christo fascist asses. There’s one guy who has been sitting out on Rt-6 that I make sure to flip off every time I see him and every time he makes a big stink. I know I’m far from the only one doing it though

I’m an admin sooo

Care to explain what an awful choice that is?

For all I know they may still be, but the battery advancements have been particularly amazing.
Ashe@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Technology@lemmy.world•Woodworking as an escape from the absurdity of softwareEnglish5·1 year agoI used to be a POS tech. It’s such a gross, mismanaged walled garden.
Currently I spend a lot of time advising against pop ups like that :^)

They have an active Instagram and are open after school pretty much every day.
Ashe@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto transgender@lemmy.ml•The United States of America, but for Trans People5·1 year agoShitty in the interim for sure, but it’s nice knowing how disruptive it’s getting. I outright tell work places I will not go. I also have brought up the embarrassing but truthful act of needing to look up bathroom laws for places I travel to. A lot of coworkers after meeting me realize just how absurd it’s gotten; and how transphobia affects them even.
I hate having to be the trans representative for so many people, but the fact it’s had a noticeable affect on people’s viewpoints is nice at least.
I have some friends in Florida; one moved there recently in part against his better judgement. He told me I’m welcome to stay with him if I ever were in the area. I had to tell him it’s not only dangerous but outright illegal for me to. I’m not risking a fraud charge for having changed my gender marker.
So yeah. Their loss, and they’re starting to feel it.
Not the windows troubleshooter, as the mic was otherwise fine. There was nothing I could find in any Teams settings, and the admin panel showed all of the telemetry as being fine.
I have had to help so many end users with that it pains me.
“How can I stop this from happening again?”
Well, we can disable.other audio devices, but seeing as it’s Windows 11 they may just re-enable good luck!
I ran into a user who’s noise cancellation stopped working upon the rollout of “New” Teams. Tried diagnosing the microphone array, settings updates, firmware. No luck.
Know what worked? Both versions of browser based Teams!!! Ihatethemihatethemihatethem
My boss has gotten to the point of “As Ashe would say, fucking Microsoft”
Let’s not forget the endless name changes, 404’d documentation that points to non existent tools all of the time, the GUI that barely works. Always an adventure
They must have some intense data retention policies. You can configure compliance levels to allow anyone into their Outlook acct using the app without any special permissions pretty easily.
Good on them to cut down access like that
This is my biggest fear tbh. I have friends I’d love to see in plenty of places, but leaving isn’t the worry. Coming back is, especially being trans with a passport of my correct gender marker
Only to then be disappeared into Federal custody, have my updated birth certificate deemed illegitimate and shipped off to God knows where
