I’ve tried that many different types of unicode formatting and still had posts removed. I looked at removed posts from reveddit and my jaw dropped at how much they are censoring. Most common for me was Lemmy and Canada related comments or links.

Wouldn’t be that hard to archive and validate your posts and it’s so easy on lemmy to leave a bad instance.

I’m seeing most of their comments linking that sub in !canada@lemmy.ca and other communities. In this community, they’re active and it makes up a somewhat small and infrequent amount of their comments, so I wouldn’t consider it spam personally.

But if we get reports from more people and the community has a problem with it then I’m happy to have a conversation about limiting or removing those types of comments.

It’s fine to disagree but stereotyping and tagging another community member because they made one post about Canadian vegan products is uncivil.

I prefer neither American companies when there are many alternatives available, including in some cases co-op or independent Canadian businesses.

At the end of the day, there’s no avoiding that shopping at Costco is contributing to their $930 USD-per-share stock price.

I think it makes sense to remove this post since it ultimately supports an American company over the many Canadian grocery options. Also, it’s sus since it is OP’s only interaction on Lemmy with no other posts or comments. Even if given the benefit of the doubt, it would be more appropriate for a different community.
