Yeah, that’s definitely a downside. I’m still happy it worked though!
https://code.mschae23.de/mschae23/mlmym
It’s actively being maintained.
Edit: and lemmybb is 3 year old software. I have no intention of updating or maintaining it. This is mostly a proof-of-concept for LemmyBeProxy. And it’s cool that we can get old lemmy software to run on modern lemmy/piefed.
This is old lemmy software running via proxy on new lemmy software. A proxy cannot create a new sort type. However you can sort by “New comments” on regular old lemmy. Maybe that’s what you were looking for?
There’s thankfully still projects like eXoDOS/eXoWIN3x/eXoWIN9x that keep the spirit alive at https://www.retro-exo.com/
That might fill in a part of the hole.
Thanks! Yeah I never expected it to work as well as it does.
Always great to see active DOS communities!
Fun fact: Settlers 2 on MsDOS was one of the few, and maybe even only game on PC to have dual mouse support for local multi-player.
Welcome back! Just remember, it’s a big place. One community might not be representing the fediverse as a whole. Very often there’s communities with the same goal on other servers.

10·2 months agoI enjoy this game a lot. And I hope they will finish the story with a next game. The radio silence makes me think this won’t happen though. Fucking EA being EA.
We at retrolemmy, and most of the fediverse for that matter are not here to judge people for their own choices and/or gender. And I want you to know that retrolemmy is a safe space. We don’t ban people from retrolemmy lightly, and even if we do we usually try to solve things through messages instead.
If you ever decide to go “bonnet off” there are no bans coming from us. This is a small server hosted for enthusiasts by me. And I have no intention of ever banning people for their gender or lifestyle.
You can always message me or @Die4Ever@retrolemmy.com directly if you need help in any way or if you have questions.

23·3 months agoThat’s a horrible title for a halo game. Sheesh…
You know that blood samples appearing where there are biological creatures around is not scientific evidence for a miracle right?
There’s a lot more needed to prove something scientifically.
But to get back to your question: I think a lot of the hate comes from (excluding the kiddy diddling) the exclusion of doubt. There’s a lot not yet explained in this world. And we as a society are at the point where everything unexplained doesn’t have to be explained to be “Devine” instead. There is so much knowledge we have collected as a species that makes a lot of biblical stories fantasy.
Religion probably was created as an explanation for the unexplained. We see this even more clearly in pagan religions, by them having a god for literally everything. But Christianity and other monotheistic religions are no exception.
Also religion was used to keep plebians in check. Rules were meant to be broken, but since breaking religious rules will have you burn for eternity, there is an incentive to do “right”.
Religion was also historically used as the basis for most wars. WW2 is one of the more extreme examples where people of certain religions were view as subhuman. And this is literally used again by Israel today.
These are my reasons for not being theistic.

Great job, let’s pat ourselves on the back. We fought the man and won.
