Two more days at the old job. It’s going slower than molasses. Usually there is hoopla planned when someone leaves this team but I haven’t heard anything about that happening. I can’t decide if I rather duck out quietly or do the hoopla.
This weekend there is a big block party happening near me. I said I wasn’t gonna go but I changed my mind. I like getting out and going amongst people sometimes.
I’m starting a new job on Monday too - with the same laptop. Will you still be working in the field or are you trading that for indoors?
We started running the swamp cooler overnight so now I’ve been sleeping better. High desert stuff.
How did you tack down the sisal rope?
Games with friends and sleep a lot hopefully.

My home village is surrounded by wildfires. I don’t live there anymore but I have friends and family who do and I feel sad for them. So many homes and businesses have burned to the ground.

My old workout routine that I have been doing for about 15 years became untenable because of scheduling and physical limitations. I mourned that loss and nursed a sports injury for a month till I could finally start something new. I just started last week with an Apple fitness program that I tailored for myself and I am very happy with it.
When my grandfather died 25 years ago I snagged his bottle of cologne when we cleaned out his house. Every now and then I pull out that bottle and it’s like being whooshed backwards through time and space.

I have terrible way finding skills. After 2.5 years of working in the same building for 1 week of every month I still get lost in there if I veer off my established route. I could get lost walking out of a paper bag.

It’s been unseasonably busy at work to the point that it’s sucking away all my energy just trying to keep up. I am looking forward to seeing a concert tomorrow night and then hopefully sleeping a lot.
