  • This is exactly the type of thing that motivates me to play lol.

For a long time (relative to the TCGP timeline) the decks I found the most fun to play were Dark types that let me twist annoying “death by a thousand cuts” play styles and deck disruption to frustrate opponents just when they think they have you on the ropes. When Darkrai ex was released I spent A LOT of time working through combos and trying to figure out the best balance of offense through unconventional means that most other decks just didn’t have enough answers for.

It sounds like you’ve come up with something really cool and fun to play in a similar way with more modern cards. Maybe I’ll have to open some of these packs after all lol.

  • Since getting back to more regular posting our top communities have seen substantial growth in MAUs:

    comms

Something I’ve been interested in lately is what those numbers represent, so I’ve been calculating them as a percentage of active Threadiverse users. It’s cool to see the numbers go up, but it’s more interesting to me to try and understand what those numbers represent and how much room there is to grow within the active user base. Based on the most recent Threadiverse active user data there are around 47,405 MAUs on the Threadiverse, which means our most active communities represent around 5% of the total MAUs. Still lots of room to grow, but 5% also feels significant.

Note: There are multiple sources of data and they don’t all agree, so I used the one that most likely represents the biggest chunk of users in our communities- Lemmy, PieFed, and Mbin.

    Community Threadiverse Stats

Community MAU Count % of Threadiverse (47,405)
    !loweffortmemes@crazypeople.online 2.48K 5.23%
    !weedtime@crazypeople.online 2.16K 4.56%
    !eternalplaylist@crazypeople.online 844 1.78%

The way the communities are developing is also interesting to me. The Eternal Playlist is the smallest of our “big 3” communities, yet it seems to be the most active community in terms of unique users posting. Then there are communities like weedtime that have much higher MAUs but very seldom see new posts unless I’m the one who makes them, but the voters and commenters are much more active. Time will tell if those trends continue or if others start posting more regularly as well.

Unfortunately the activity in our Pokemon community !pokemonTCGM@crazypeople.online hasn’t been as high as it once was and my time for it has been significantly reduced. I’m very thankful for all the effort that @Endmaker@ani.social has been putting in to keep at least a couple threads active with new and interesting card collections, lore, and game news. Without them it would probably be a ghost town which is a shame because the game is finally getting to a point where there are multiple viable decks and strats for playing PVE and PVP. If anyone is interested feel free to stop by and share how you’re finding the game!

In instance news, things continue to grow slowly and steadily. We’re averaging double digit active user numbers every day now, and our total membership has climbed to 125. Not huge by any means, but that was never the goal. We also recently launched a status page to keep our users informed during server maintenance and service outages which can be found here.
