Jack_Burton@lemmy.worldto Trump Watch@lemm.ee•Trump's Cognitive 'Decline' Suggests He 'Might Not Make It Through Four Years,' Republican Strategist SaysEnglish9·4 days agoHaha I’ve been saying this for a while now, I think there’s a legit possibility. Once he gets too risky mentally, they’ll have him survive another “assassination attempt”, providing a reason to only appear on camera for safety. They’ll deepfake him after he dies and keep up the ruse.

Haha yep inviting the wrong person was absolutely the big issue. I think I read something about it being an unofficial fork out of Israel though, but everything moves so fast these days it’s hard to keep up
Specially with all the recent scrutiny on it in the news, hackers are figuring out ways in.
I’m assuming you mean the US gov’t debacle? It’s already been proven that they were using a fork, not the genuine Signal app. The fork was built with a back door. As far as I’m aware (and please correct me if I’m wrong) Signal has yet to be hacked and is currently among the most secure options.
It’s almost like the US gov’t might benefit from convincing its citizens that the fully encrypted messaging app is dangerous so they should just go back to Whatsapp and Telegram.

That’s like saying “A burglar put a spycam in my house once. I simply said no and he removed it. So hopefully it stays that way”. It’s there, you just can’t see it now.

Could changing the voice of an actor turn a really bad movie into a good one?English9·8 days agoI would watch the hell out of that haha. Jack_Burton@lemmy.worldto World News@lemmy.world•Chiefs remind King Charles about his treaty obligationsEnglish4·12 days agoIf Canada became fully independent from the Crown we’d have to draw up a completely new constitution as the current one is tightly tied to the Crown. Personally, I don’t trust anyone these days to create a new constitution, as an unfortunate chunk of the country seems to want to eliminate current rights as it is. For as much as some Canadians want or demand to remove the Crown from Canada, it’s really not feasible, and could potentially (probably) completely destroy the country.
Jack_Burton@lemmy.worldto World News@lemmy.world•Chiefs remind King Charles about his treaty obligationsEnglish403·12 days agoThere’s no point in saying technically, he is the King of Canada. That being said the Crown is mostly symbolic like the UK, however symbols can be very powerful. By inviting the King to open Parliament, Carney is symbolically reminding Trump that Canada is much bigger than just one country. Likewise the Chiefs are reminding Canada, specifically Alberta, that the Crown holds the treaties, not Canada.
Basically this is like getting picked on in school then bringing your big brother to lunch. He doesn’t have to do anything, the point is to remind your bullies you have some pretty strong support, and they should think again about continuing to bully you.
First, I made ‘Album Artists’ my landing page. 'Artists" includes everyone tagged in the metadata, ‘Album Artists’ only contains the primary artists. For me, the difference is 350 album artists vs 1412 artists.
I run everything through Picard when I add something to the server. Sometimes I have to change the metadata (for example I hate having an entry for ‘&’ like Elton John & Hans Zimmer and I’ll change it so the album is included in both Elton John and Hans Zimmer but theres no entry for them together). But generally it’s pretty simple and smooth.
Looks like this:

Jack_Burton@lemmy.worldto Canada@lemmy.ca•Far More Women than Men Voted for Carney. Why?English111·19 days agoRight. Every time Poilievre or Smith screamed “Trudeau bad!” It was clearly meant towards Trudeau alone and didn’t refer to the Liberal Party as a whole. This headline is only misleading to pedants, the rest of us understand fully and I think you do too.
Well they have become less satirical than reality so…now I don’t know what to do.
