That’s hit or miss, depending on some things.

politics @lemmy.world•What naysayers don’t get about ‘No Kings,’ the biggest protest in U.S. historyEnglish
3·17 hours agoAmericans protest when it is convenient. They think if they do it once or twice, it is effective. Doing it consistently is just ‘too much’ for them.

413·22 hours agoMy huge takeaway from No Kings protests is - Republicans and Trump aren’t really shaking in their boots. So what, you go out with your friends for a weekend spending all that time going ‘rabble, rabble, rabble’. You know, good for you, I guess.
My question is, will these same people and more, be there by time of both the mid-term and general elections? That’s the real question. If you guys can get out and protest, certainly, you can get out and vote too.
It’s not a real secret that the No Kings protests is directly rebelling at Trump. We’ve seen similar protests before when George W Bush was in office, so this is nothing new to me.
You know what I keep daydreaming about? I keep daydreaming of an America, where if Americans want things done, they’d hold all elected officials to their word. If millions of americans didn’t like what who they voted for did, they’d massively flood e-mails, letters, phone-calls and maybe occasional visits to directly tell that elected official ‘hey, you’re fucking up the country I’m working hard to help sustain and pay taxes into, because of your crooked bullshit’. If it is done enough times, maybe just maybe, that elected official will have a wake up call and decide to honor their position to be of the service of the people, not who is handing them loads of money.
But, you know, that’s too much effort for everyone who’s gonna partake in this protest. In fact, I find it funny that people even worry about whether they gotta work on the day of the protest.
My friend, in a real revolution and in a country that actively fucks you in every way you can, why worry about work? You go to work, to help sustain and uphold a country that’s actively fucking you over and that little job of yours isn’t cutting it for your expenses. But, you keep on worrying and find yourself back in line after the protest.
I doubt I’ll even see your asses in the voting center anyways.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Are war crimes committed by militaries the same as murder?English
1·2 days agoOf course it is. It’s just sanctioned because you’re in the military and being in the military will usually mean you’ll get to kill someone if a commander of your corresponding army tells you to kill them. That’s how it is.

26·2 days agoNobody listens to anybody anyways unless it’s a stupid echo chamber followed by a vague message for everyone to get cozy with. Because Americans don’t know how to protest, they’ll only do whatever is most convenient and comfortable.

39·2 days agoDoing real work would be going to Washington D.C in collective mass and occupying the white house (which is funny that conservative nutjobs did it before any leftist group ever could. funny that). Or you know, doing real work would involve actually tracking, following and routing every corrupt politician. Doing real work would involve getting up in Trump’s face personally, as he is too powerless to stop millions that’d theoretically approach him.
No american has the balls to, they just do whatever is convenient for them. The real work is stop supporting the regime that this country has once again, put itself in. No american wants to upset their life to do that, no, they’ll want to be cute and plan on an off-day to go out and raise a sign up and down. It is vibes of Occupy Wall-Street, that protest did nothing.
No, it isn’t just tankies. It is by observation, as to how many people I see online talking big and boldly about their revolutionist dreams, but keeping them as just that - revolutionist dreams. Keep assuming blindly.
I asked for a full plan, not a witty retort. You’ve demonstrated as to how little you’ve thought of actually running a country post-revolution would take. Proves me right.
You seem to resort to just spamming that word ‘tankie’ but I don’t think you absolutely realize what is being said to you. Man, you’re a lost cause. Fucking moron.

Something no American wants to do or is intelligent enough in how to orchestrate. You all sit there in your little armchairs talking about revolution this and revolution that. Tell me, has anyone of you ever thought of the aftermath of said revolution? Like, how do we go about it if its achieved?
You’re not one to talk.

1345·2 days agoHow about we don’t plan them and just do them? Hold out for weeks, don’t buy anything and if anybody hasn’t filed taxes at this point, don’t file them?
Seems like planning protests just gives the opposition time to prepare and counteract protests.

2·2 days agoYou could say that almost for the entirety of Elder Scrolls series as a whole.
Daggerfall was more of their ambitious projects though. I think the entire premise is “make a character, run with character until you’re bored and only engage in some of the story”. I mean, in Daggerfall, all you have to do is just get a letter to start the main quest, but you can ignore the main quest after that entirely.

101·3 days agoUndertale - It took a lot of pages off from Earthbound and just basically served as an example of what happens when you are nothing but fan-service.
Doom - There will be no arguments against the fact that Doom did set the FPS world on fire when it arrived. But, you can make an argument that overtime, there have been lots of very enjoyable FPS games that will give Doom a run for its money. I’m also a fan of Quake and I think Quake helped progress FPS in its own way. I really hate that Doom: The Dark Ages was pissed away when that could’ve been the Quake remake or continuation we’d all like to see. Instead, Quake died at Quake Champions, a very forgettable hero-shooter.

2·3 days agoThe wealthy typically don’t like being known, they love operating from the shadows. We only ever know of them, if there’s a news report about something they’ve said or done.

So you begin this post with saying ‘red pill alpha guys claim’ which is entirely subjective because what the fuck do they know?
Wealthy people date whomever they want, because they’re wealthy and can afford to, obviously. One thing wealthy people don’t want, are people who’re dirt poor with no future prospects.
