Ahh it sort of makes sense if you don’t think about it too long, gotcha.
Thanks very much!
Can someone explain to me why Pirate Software has such a big problem with it, I tried to look it up and I’m still struggling to understand.
Tax the rich, relentlessly push bikes and public transport, regulate big business, this is the only way we survive.
Reminds me of an exert from Tessa Violet’s “Word Ain’t Enough” which goes “carve me up into someone you’d like to choose till I’m only pieces of you”
I have a different problem, I’ve spent so many years adjusting myself so aggressively that sometimes it’s hard to tell who “I” am anymore.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, capitulating to Trump is a lost cause. it will never be enough, ignore the US and move on. They’re no longer allies until the fascism is stamped out of them.
Don’t judge my hobbies!
Used to? Baby if you being the Dominoes, this could be us in 20 minutes.
The party has clearly shifted right under Carney, but conflating them with the Conservatives isn’t just inaccurate, it’s dangerous. Yes, there’s overlap on some issues, but the Conservatives are far more extreme. We’ve seen what happens when we treat two parties as the same despite glaring differences: it only helps the worst actors.
What we need now is relentless pressure for left-wing policies and holding our politicians accountable.
I replied to the wrong person, my apologies.
I’m just trying to trick people into reading the article, just cut out the fluff, but you’re right ‘plainclothes federal agents’ are modern day Gestapo and not something I thought would exist in the modern day.
TLDR:
Andrea Velez, a U.S. citizen and Cal Poly Pomona graduate, was violently detained by plainclothes federal agents in downtown Los Angeles while heading to work. Witnesses say officers in unmarked cars, without ID, tackled her without checking identification. Her family believes she was targeted due to her Hispanic appearance and fears retaliation, as her mother is a non-citizen resident. LAPD claimed they responded to a “kidnapping” call but later admitted it was an immigration operation. Velez’s whereabouts remain unknown, sparking outrage over racial profiling and unchecked enforcement.
What will it take for the average person to care. Much less politicians.
They aren’t pro-life, they’re pro-birth.
Yup, that’s what democracy is supposed to be all about giving engaged citizens the tools to change the system to reflect their values!
Do both, so they know why they lost.
Wasn’t my intention to imply that it was only for them, simply that it is an effective tool in fighting our widening poverty crisis. Nevertheless, I agree with your sentiment, It would be better if everyone considered public transit and bicycle a legitimate transportation solution.
Montreal recently expanded their REM network of passenger trains, it runs often and it’s extensive. I wish more places would follow suit. Biking is actually my favorite way to get around too especially when there’s properly protected bike lanes.
Doug Ford making a shortsighted move to benefit private industry? Shocker. If the way we recycle the packaging isn’t working we’re left with two options, force a change of packaging or invest in new ways to recycle. Saying “fuck it, it’s too costly” is what got us in this mess.
Unfortunately we voted the Democrats out of all the positions that could have actually hold Republicans accountable. Republicans never hold each other accountable.
I really understand the frustration, it’s not enough but that’s exactly why we need people like AOC in a position to hold Republicans accountable because at least we know they will, rather than establishment Democrats.
