A very good shave – I slowly get the impression that I’ve got the straight-razoring figured out.

OT, but scent-related: I chased away our cat when I was stropping my straight. An hour later, my computer chair is wet and smells like cat piss. A coincidence? Retaliation? I don’t have video surveillance in the flat, so there will never be any proof of feline wrongdoing. The list of non-feline suspects is rather short, on the other hand… In any case, you will be glad to hear that I found out only after I had rested my fat ass on the chair 🥶

Reluctantly, I join the bloodlust that is engulfing this in the olden times so peaceful lemmy. I shall not rest until Marduk is killed.

Nice shave today; something in the Pitralon gives me a kind of fizzy feeling on the skin.

Another shave with the Barbarossa – which takes some time. A few months ago, I was complaining that straight razors have too long a blade – but shortness is not an answer to all problems.

Temperatures have risen beyond 20 degrees here, but the sun has not come out. I’ve used several times Marduk, and I would assume that I have at the most another 10 shaves in it. A nice soap, but requires heavy loading.

A very good shave - I used a ridiculous amount of soap, which is apparently what is required in order to get a good lather going with hard water. I did something right when honing the Friodur – trouble is, I don’t quite know what.

Did that Oral B 7mm Synthetic have soft bristles?

Unfortunately not. But with a loft of approximately 5mm, I didn’t expect it to. Maybe once it’s completely broken in 🤔

I’m surprised nobody commented on the ultimative honing video by the Froggy Shave - don’t worry: he uses a Gold Dollar!

Haven’t tried it, but only heard good things about it.

Seconding toothbrush+dish soap.

But you shouldn’t need to do this every shave - if your lather is good, you should be able to rinse it with water, and it should be gone. Otherwise, your lather is too dry.

Shit shave. I had refreshed my TI after this recipe, but I must have screwed up somewhere – probably didn’t use enough pressure with the first stone. The brush hardly held enough lather for a cheek – I’m not sure I’ll use it again. But I’m still impressed by the HAGS soap.
