There will still be people who are able to rapidly learn with AI on their side and people who fail to do it. The fast ones are able to focus much more on the underlying problems and less on language specifics. The definition of low level and high level programers will change in the context of AI. Nobody today is implementing a linked list outside of university and in the future nobody will be needed to write the repeated code which still is needed in a lot of frameworks.

But of course there might the point of a critical collapse if AI only learns from its own code and inefficient code gets repeated constantly.

While I do understand all of the scepticism in this thread, I have to say that I am personally amazed by GitHub Copilot.

I am just ramping up in a new company working on web development with Angular and Spring Boot. Even though I have 0 experience with this and have a background in python and C++, I got productive extremely quickly thanks to Copilot. Of course it does not work without flaws and you still need programming knowledge to wirte proper prompts and fix smaller issues in the resulting code. But without it I would be much further behind. It was even able to fix some issues in the html just based on a description of the issue I am observing in the webpage.

I do not think it will replace all programmers, but I do think it will replace some low level programmers who did repetitive tasks as the good programmers are extremely accelerated by only having to type subsets of what was needed before.

I think it is a given that you can create scenarios for every law that make the law look stupid.

I doubt that the amount of 9 seater cars with enough people inside is actually significant to recalculate the law.

The decision by weight is most likely done as this is a value which can be easily evaluated.

But you are making assumptions which are not really true anywhere. Working hours I Spain and Germany are already white different. Main reason is of course that they share the same time zone by law, but are not geographically in the same time zone. But there are some additional differences in culture which extend this effect.

Ich bin ein begeisterter Skifahrer auch wenn mein schlechtes Umweltgewissen weiter wächst. Ich reduziere bewusst Autofahrten, Fleischkonsum und Flüge aber bei Skifahren bin ich ehrlich gesagt noch nicht bereit dazu.

I am 30 years old and I have a switch and a Xbox Series X.

I use both, depending on the game I am currently playing. The Zelda gaes on the switch have been awesome and some of the Mario games as well.

The Xbox can deliver better graphics and with this more demanding games, but I cannot play them on the train or on vacation and that are actually the most times where I find time to play.

If I am at home with time to play I am still on the PC playing with friends.

For the price the Switch has definitely given me more value than the Xbox, even though I do like the Xbox.

Wow, wenn alle Petitionen so effektiv wäre würde ich häufiger welche unterschreiben. Vor wenigen Stunden heute vormittag habe ich erst diese Petition unterschrieben und schon gibt es eine neue Entwicklung.

Als jemand der Teil einer Gemeinde ist, die mehrfach Kirchenasyl gewährt hat, bin ich ein wenig zwiegespalten.

Die Personen denen Asyl gewährt wurden, hatten es alle meiner Meinung nach nicht verdient abgeschoben zu werden, aber das entspricht meiner generellen Meinung über die meisten Flüchtlinge.

Allerdings denke ich, dass Flüchtlinge die es schaffen in Gemeinden aufgenommen zu werden und da dann auch ehrenamtlich von vielen Freiwilligen versorgt werden eine Extrem hohe Chance auf eine gute Integration in die Gesellschaft haben. Damit haben sie quasi einen Bürgen für die Aufnahme.

Trotzdem ist es natürlich problematisch, dass die Kirche sich hier “über” das Gesetz stellt. (Wobei man sagen muss das manche Ausländerbehörden auch eigenwillige Gesetzesauslegungen haben.)

Am Ende wünsche ich für alle Flüchtlinge den Support, den die wenigen im Kirchenasyl bekommen und eine insgesamt positivere Aufnahme von Flüchtlingen. Vor allem die Einschränkungen zu Arbeiten und die nicht Anerkennung von Abschlüssen hemmt die Integration enorm.
