The test seem to vary based on location. Many of us can probably tell you what our test where. I’ll do the same. But my advice might be to assume nothing.

Mine was done remotely about a year ago. so that may have affected it. They asked I bring some items, dice, coins, paperclips, amd some other similar common items. I went in assuming it was to see how I might fidget with stuff. But they had me tell a story using the items as characters. This was very difficult for me as I was super tired at the time and had 0 creativity. I then assumed they’d have excepted me to be able to do this easily but it seems my creativity wasnt what they where testing.

I was unusually tired since I had to travel to my mom’s place in a differnt city so she could be part of the test. Also my moms new kittens managed to chew through the power cable of the laptop I brought with me meaning I needed to (during a 15 min break) install a Webcam and zoom on my moms old pc, all while she was panicking so during the second half of the test I was beat red, sweaty, tired, and suffing a massive migrine. So if yours is remote, have a plan B and all your computer stuff up to date. Also keep kittens away from your power cords.

I’m aware of this organization but other than raising awareness what does the organization do with the money donated to it and how open is it with its spending?

I was just listening to the urbanist agenda podcast on this topic. It’s a good idea but not really easy to throw money at. You’d need to find a local group and work with them under the table.

The tax exempt political contributions seem like theyd be more effective. Even if ndp isn’t your party, you could probably convince more people to give that check up in protest if they are getting some back.

Also if we get somone good in power there will be less need for tactical urbanism. We can just have the more legal kind.

I agree with the need to end Fords madness, but why does a petition need my phone number? It’s a required field? No thanks.

Anyway you could could petition to for with every signature in Ontario on it and it’ll still get ignored. Fords getting kick backs from road construction contracts. He knows ripping out bike lanes means there’s just going to be more contracts when sensible leaders take over to put them all back in. Even if he loses the next election he’s going to make a killing on this.

Though it’s certainly effective. Unless somone very influential happens to be on lemmy looking at comments on memes I don’t think that idea is going to get to them.

What I’ve seen is letter writing campaigns. The idea of getting a large volume of people tonwrite their MPs all at once makes it harder for them to just ignore everyone. Somone whould provide a template with not only the nature of our request but things the mp can actually do to advance the idea. They sometimes actually want to help but don’t know how. This is why you need somone with some degree of knowledge to write the template.

A flyer/poster campaign can help as well. This is good for raising general awareness. Though its more effective if done during a specific time prior to an action like the letter writing campaign or a protest march. Even those who can’t partake in the event can then at least promote it. Though I suggest providing guidelines around ethical flyer distribution. The advantage is that you can get your message to places like libraries and community centers where more civic minded people will see it.

Also there is protests, marches ect. But there are so many of those happening that I feel they often get ignored. The logistics are a pain, amd if not done right they can go bad.

Also is there a place organizing these things? Do they need donations or volunteers?

So with that in mind if anything like that is happening, link your memes to it in some way. It will turn a complaint into action.

What’s the call to action here? When I see content like this I think it’s not enough to just say. “Fist past the post bad ranked voting good.” Many of us agree already. Tell us what to do about it.

At very least toss us a website, but there’s better we can do.

Very cool. My only source was Reds video (overly sarcastic productions) it stuck with me just how old that story is and how many times it’s been retold for differnt purposes.

Also makes you wonder what the myths of the distant future will be. Will these flood myths remain or will it be like the myths of Homer the Simpson.

Wasn’t the flood thing also mentioned in the epic of gilgamesh from some other older god?

I like this one. It’s just a fun little game, nothing crazy, no hidden lore or hours of grinding. Just a little story telling for the season.
